TOEFL Skılls rough draght



IELTS 1st Lesson Goal: - Make a study plan. - Talk about target score, Band _/9. - Familiarize with the test. Take a practice test. Size it up, compare our grade with our target grade. - Speaking. Learn about the speaking test. Practice some sample questions. Practice our speaking skill.
Objective: -Find out if s/he wants a lot of advice or if she wants to be heard. Find out if s/he wants me to make a list of mistakes s/he make. - Find out if s/he's done the IELTS before. - Look at the practice test. -Discuss the speaking section. - Assess her with the practice questions. - Talk about the news.
Materials: The 8 week study plan, use this to make our own, with dates. Bring in a practice test.
Anticipated problems/solutions: -S/he doesn't get a chance to speak, I lecture and don't listen./ I incorporate more questions and listening time into this plan than monologue. Say this, "As your teacher, I need feedback from you, you know best. Please tell me if I am speaking too fast or if I say an unknown word." - She might get scared from the beginning because of low pre-test scores or the weight of the test in general. / Say this, "there's no tricks in the IELTS for better or worse. The often are looking for a specific grammar to get full points on a section and they're judging you based on everything from pronunciation to word choice and phrasing. They want a variety of vocabulary. 
There are no tricks, but there are however, hints. Look at our first independent speaking sample question. 

"What friend would you like to go on a holiday with?" Your answer should start _________ "

-"Tell me what you know about the test." "Students who make a study plan score higher on the test, shall we make a study plan?"

The test also features combinations, for example, we are going to look at some of the sample speaking questions that ask you to listen to a recording and summarize the recording, which unifies listening and speaking. Before we practice these skills I would like to give you 2 word that will help you understand the listeings. Estuary, salinity and brackish defintions are given, these words you will probably understand Physiological and Adaptations
And the first word they pause on is Osmoregulaters, which relates to osmosis.
