me to make a list of mistakes s/he make. - Find out if s/he's done the IELTS before. - Look at the practice test. -Discuss the speaking section. - Assess
her with the practice questions. - Talk about the news.
Materials: The 8 week
study plan, use this to make our own, with dates. Bring in a practice test.

problems/solutions: -S/he doesn't get a chance to speak, I lecture and don't
listen./ I incorporate more questions and listening time into this plan than
monologue. Say this, "As your teacher, I need feedback from you, you know
best. Please tell me if I am speaking too fast or if I say an unknown
word." - She might get scared from the beginning because of low pre-test
scores or the weight of the test in general. / Say this, "there's no
tricks in the IELTS for better or worse. The often are looking for a specific
grammar to get full points on a section and they're judging you based on everything from pronunciation to word choice and phrasing. They want a variety of vocabulary.
There are no tricks, but there are however, hints. Look at our first independent speaking sample
question.
